Most places we wanted to see in Milan were closed today but we were able to see the Duomo, La Scala and a couple of other churches. And of course we ate amazing food. The Duomo is every bit as amazing as you would expect. I love the Gothic pillars. Here are a few of my favorite pictures. Also a few from La Scala Theatre. I wish we could have seen a performance there, but the timing was not right for that.

Celeste and Suzanne have been on the road for 2 months. They spend alot of time with Anne's (Suzamme's mom). She staayed at my house for 4 days. We went to visit Uncle Mark and Aunt Janet and Aunt Dede and drove by Gramma's house. They stopped to visit Jimmy and Babette's house and saw there new dog. They traveled headed back to Portland. Finally home!

Baseball 5/24/2022 11:00:00 AM Five Dons Earn All-WCC Honors Story LinksSAN MATEO, Calif. – Following the conclusion of the regular season, the West Coast Conference has officially announced the 2022 All-Conference awards. For San Francisco, Luke Keaschall was named to the All-Conference First Team for the second consecutive year while teammates Mario DeMera, Brandon Greim and Harris Williams III were selected as Honorable Mentions. Notably, first-year pitcher Adam Shew was also named to the conference's All-Freshman Team. All five individual awards – along with the All-West Coast Conference First, Second and Freshman Teams – were voted on solely by the league's 10 head coaches. Following up his impress first season on the Hilltop that saw him be selected as WCC Co-Freshman of the Year, Keaschall dominated on the diamond again his sophomore year as the Watsonville native ranked in the top five in the conference in: games played (56, first), plate appearances (267, first), runs (46, first), doubles (18, first), hit by pitch (19), stolen bases (30), on-base percentage (.446), walks (36), at-bats (209, fifth) and total bases (103, fifth). Nationally, the versatile infielder ranked sixteenth in the country in stolen bases. Serving as a catalyst at the top of the lineup, Keaschall reached base in 53 of his 56 games this year, which included a season-long 30 game streak. Enjoying success of his own, DeMera also continued to grow in his sophomore campaign as the infielder set new career-highs in almost every major statistical category. Providing a steady presence in the middle of the lineup for the green and gold, DeMera finished first in the conference in at-bats (230) and third in plate appearances (246) as he was also second on the team and tied for seventh in the conference in RBI (39). Notably, his three triples were also good for third in the league. Alongside DeMera, Greim capped off his career at USF with his best year on the Hilltop. Playing second base primarily for the Dons, the Dublin native logged new career-highs in batting average (.243), games played (54), games started (42), runs (23), hits (41), doubles (9), RBI (26), total bases (58) and walks (11). Overall, his 169 at-bats and 41 hits both ranked fifth on the team. Playing in all 56 games this season, Williams III has molded into an integral piece of the USF lineup. Heating up down the stretch, the Denver native finished in the top ten in the WCC in games played (56), plate appearances (250), at-bats (218), RBI (45), stolen bases (21, third), sacrifice flies (3, eighth) and hits (62, eighth). On the team, Williams III also ranked second in batting average (.284), second in total bases (92), third in runs scored (32) and third in home runs (6). On the mound, Shew has developed into one of the top amateur arms in the country. Tabbed as the go-to guy out of the bullpen for USF, the right-hander has shined in his first season on the Hilltop as he finished first on the team in appearances (25) and ERA (3.02). Overall, Shew tossed 44.2 innings and struck out 29 batters while only allowing 15 walks and a .235 batting average against. Additionally, Shew finished with a 3-1 record as he made three spot starts for the Dons during midweek matchups this season. Gonzaga won three major individual honors, led by WCC Freshman of the Year Cade McGee (Fr. RHP), Defensive Player of the Year Connor Coballes (Jr., IF) and Mark Machtolf was selected by his peers as WCC Coach of the Year for the fifth time. San Diego's Caleb Ricketts (Jr., C) collected WCC Player of the Year honors, while Portland starting pitcher junior Brett Gillis was tabbed the WCC Pitcher of the Year.
