Memorial High helped jumble the County/Metro Athletic Conference football standings Friday night by knocking off previously unbeaten Madera 49-27.

Stevan Johnson and Mike Alvarez each ran in three touchdowns to power the visiting Panthers, No. 18 in The Bee's Top 20 rankings, against the No. 6 Coyotes.
Coupled with Sanger's upset over No. 1 Edison, it left Sanger atop the CMAC at 2-0 and four teams -- Memorial, Madera, Edison and Bullard (a 42-7 winner over Madera South on Thursday night) all tied at 1-1.
Alvarez stretched Memorial's lead to 14 in the second quarter on a 70-yard breakaway run. The Coyotes (6-1, 1-1) responded in the second quarter with a field goal and 65-yard TD pass from Nathaniel Nelson to Kris Bueno to make it 21-17 at halftime.
But it was all Memorial (6-1, 1-1) after that as the Panthers shut out the Coyotes in the second half with interceptions from Frankie Dalena, Ryan Beecher and Cooper Douglas.
Johnson punched in two of his rushing touchdowns in the fourth quarter to stretch the Panthers' lead.
