A Few Highlights:    AWESOME MICHAEL

• I passed a runner from Florida at mile 4.  He said, "We don't have hills like this in Florida."
• The first 6 miles felt like a roller coaster.  Long uphills and downhills.
• When we passed a dairy farm, I pretended that I was from the city and asked an urban-looking runner what the smell was....he said, "That is cow manure".  I said, "Are you sure it isn't pig?"   He then said, "You know... it could be pig."
• I got a laugh from a women on my right...At mile 11 I noticed a sign that said,,"40mph" I turned to the women and said..."40mph?.....I better slow down." 
• When the women handed me my first place medal, she said "wait, I'll be right back."  She brought back a box of  gluten-dairy free artisan ice cream sandwiches.  I said, "perfect, my wife and daughter will love these!" 

Was just transferred to UC Davis

She had scoliosis surgery last month.

 It is a slow and painful recovery

 but she is handling it well.
