Larry and I are in Oregon for Father/ Daughter weekend at Chi Omega Sorority. Big game tonight DUCKS vs USC. GO DUCKS!!!!

The park is right next door to the Grove where the Monarch Butterfly’s congregate this time of year. They hang in clusters from the Eucalyptuses trees. They are just now arriving but still some 10,000 here in a small area. They expect 80,000 at peak

Drove down Pismo beach in a little piece o shit car I rented. One of the few places left where you can drive down the beach. Bodacious not brave enough for the dune buggy so had to settle for this

Had good mex food for lunch in the town where the final resting place of Beatrice Kiddo is. Guadalupe. Just a sleepy little farming community but beautiful farms of strawberries and lettuce

Pretty soggy this afternoon so may head home early tomorrow to beat Sundays storm

Camping(?) at Pismo Beach this week

First 2 pics are from the Palace in Gonzales. Had a couple of wild dinners there 30 yrs ago when we used to live over here. Funny how our memories are distorted over the yrs especially when blurred at the time. I remembered this place as an old hotel with bar and restaurant. Nothing even close but still a fair meal

We just got back from Washington DC. Larry went to the Capitol to receive a Congressional Gold Medal for his father Kei Kitahara who served in WW ll. It was a very proud day. We enjoyed seeing all the historical sights.

Please pray for Moke, Tracey and family. Tracey's mother Sandra Prescott died after a brave and difficult battle with both breast and colon cancer. She was only 63 years old.

Talked to Chelsea on skype for the first time tonight. Nothing like seeing your baby when you are talking to her! Greatest invention.
